How to run a raffle for your team

A prize draw for your team, run from a flyer in the break room and drawn live on a screen. Free to enter, no account, nothing for anyone to install.

Employee appreciation usually arrives as an email with a gift card code in it. It works. Nobody remembers it.

A raffle is different, because there is a moment in it. Someone's name goes up on a screen and the room reacts. That is the part people talk about at the end of the shift.

Here is how to run one.

Make the raffle

Name the prize, choose how many people win, set when it closes. It takes about a minute, and you do not need anything else ready yet.

Put it on the wall

Tap Print flyer and you get one US Letter sheet: the prize, a QR code, and “Free. No account. Scan to enter.” Add your logo and it prints at the top.

Pin it in the break room. People enter on the way past, on their own phone, without stopping to install anything. That matters more than it sounds. Every extra step between a flyer and an entry is a person who meant to and then did not.

Consider more winners rather than a bigger prize

The most common reason people do not enter is not that the prize is too small. It is that they have already decided they never win.

Three winners of something decent will often pull more entries than one winner of something impressive. It is worth trying both and watching your own numbers rather than taking anyone's word for it.

Name only is usually the right choice

A team raffle does not need email addresses. You already know how to find the people who work with you. Name only keeps it simple and collects nothing you do not need.

Draw it where people already are

The break room screen. The all-hands. The shift huddle before the doors open.

Open Showtime, put it on the screen, and the QR goes up so anyone still standing there can enter. When you are ready, press Draw. The names spin, slow down, and the winner lands.

Sound is on by default, so test your speakers before the room fills up. There is a Test sound button on the setup screen for exactly that, and you can mute at any point during the show.

Afterward

Your winners stay on your raffle page, so you have the list once everyone goes back to work.

Then do it again next month. The thing that makes this work is not any one draw. It is that people start expecting it.
